The newly bred variety, Purple Majesty, is set to hit supermarket shelves just in time for Hallowe'en and Scottish shoppers are expected to go wild for the tasty tubers.
Naturally grown and harvested by the Albert Bartlett company in Scotland, the new style tatties are a vivid purple inside and out and keep their colour even after being boiled and mashed.
